About Dan.
Dan Hugill is a prominent figure in the recovery and fitness community in Colorado Springs, Colorado, celebrating over a decade of sobriety since July 23, 2014. His journey is a powerful testament to transformation, as he turned his life around from addiction and criminal behavior to one rooted in faith, service, and empowerment. After being sentenced to 12 years in the Department of Corrections, Dan had a profound spiritual renewal in El Paso county jail, followed by a supernatural surrender to Jesus in the Colorado Department of Corrections where he recommitted his life to Christ. His early release in 2016 marked the beginning of his commitment to recovery and supporting others in reclaiming their lives.
Dan is a CrossFit Level 2 coach with certifications as a Youth Exercise Specialist through NASM, Adaptive and Inclusive Training, and USA Weightlifting. He is also a second-degree black belt in Shaolin Kung Fu, utilizing his skills in CrossFit, boxing, and martial arts to foster holistic wellness. Dan has served as the Alumni program manager and former Activities Director at Peaks Recovery Centers, Program Coordinator of the Phoenix Colorado Springs, Impact Alumni Cofounder for the 4th Judicial problem solving courts and is a recovery leader at the Sanctuary Church on the West Side of the 719, helping individuals strengthen their recovery journeys.
In addition to his coaching roles, Dan co-founded and is COO of The Bridge, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping individuals transition out of incarceration. At The Bridge, he coaches boxing and other fitness modalities while offering motivational speaking engagements to inspire those in recovery. His approach, which integrates fitness, faith, and community support, has made him a beacon of hope for many.
Dan's inspirational story has been widely recognized, with multiple features in the Colorado Springs Gazette and appearances on various news outlets. He has spoken at the Healing Conference hosted by TonniLea Ministries, been a guest on the Gritty Glory podcast with Carrie Ann Johnson, and shared his recovery journey on the 700 Club CBN alongside his father, Doug Hugill. His mission is to share the transformative power of faith, fitness, and service, empowering others to build recovery capital and reclaim their lives. Whether through coaching, public speaking, or spiritual guidance, Dan continues to inspire and uplift the recovery community
